Dirk Kuyt also wins second competition duel with FC Dordrecht
6.40 pm: Dirk Kuyt also won his second game with FC Dordrecht in the Kitchen Champion Division. Joep van der Sluijs scored the only goal in the away match against MVV Maastricht (0-1).
Kuijt debuted last week with a home win on SC Cambuur (1-0) at Dordrecht. Young PSV and Roda JC are also without a loss of points after two duels.
ADO Den Haag, FC Den Bosch and FC Eindhoven can also come on 6 points on Sunday and Monday.
Mads Pedersen wins Tour van Denmark after third stage victory
4 pm: Mads Pedersen has won the Tour of Denmark. In the fifth and final stage, a hill ride from Hobro to Silkeborg over 157 kilometers, the all-rounder of Lidl-Trek turned out to be the strongest in the sprint of a first small group. Pedersen, who already had two stage victories, kept the Frenchman Axel Zingle and the Swede Jakob Söderqvist behind him.
Söderqvist, rider from the Lidl-Trek training team on paper, climbed to second place in the rankings. He passed the Danish Niklas Larsen, who finished the five -day stage race in his home country. Axel van der Tuuk was in seventh place the best Dutchman in the final classification. The rider of Metec drove as an intern for the Spanish Euskaltel-Euskadi.
Pedersen, the world champion of 2019, won the Tour of Denmark for the third time. The 29-year-old rider previously did that in 2017 and 2023.
Marc Márquez also wins in Austria Sprintrace
3.45 pm: Motorcycle racer Marc Márquez from Spain has won the Sprintrace of the Grand Prix of Austria in the MotoGP. Márquez, who started from fourth position after a crash in qualifying, kept his brother Onlex Marquez behind him. Their fellow countryman Pedro Acosta finished third.
With his victory, Marc Márquez strengthened his leading position in the rankings. Márquez won twelve of the thirteen sprint traces that were held this year.
The Italian Marco Bezzecchi, who started from pole, finished fourth. Francesco Bagnaia had to stop the race prematurely and could therefore not grab points.
The main race will follow on the Red Bull Ring on Sunday.
Elise Chabbey ride winner, Urska Zigart new leader in Romandia
2.28 pm: The Swiss cyclist Elise Chabbey has won the second stage of the Tour of Romandy. It was an arrival uphill in La Tzoumaz. The rider of FDJ-Suez defeated the Slovenian Urska Zigart in a sprint. The Dutch Yara Kastelijn followed third at some distance.
Zigart, who drives for AG Insurance – Soudal, took over the leader’s jersey from the Spanish Paula Blasi. For the 32-year-old Chabbey it was her first victory at Worldtournest. In the rankings she follows eight seconds from Zigart, the girlfriend of Tour winner Tadej Pogacar.
The Tour of Romandy ends on Sunday with a hill ride with start and finish in Aigle, where the international cycling union UCI is located.
On Friday there was commotion after five cycling teams, including Visma – Lease A Bike and Picnic PostNL, were given a starting ban because they refused to adhere to the rules for the implementation of GPS trackers as a test for a new safety system.
Marco Bezzecchi benefits from Crash Marc Márquez and takes pole
12.32 hours: Motorcycle racer Marco Bezzecchi has packed his first pole position of the MotoGPS season. At the Grand Prix of Austria, he set the fastest time in a messy qualifying session. The Italian finished for Alex Márquez from Spain. The Italian Francesco Bagnaia finished third.
Bezzecchi benefited from a crash of classification leader Marc Márquez, who starts from fourth place. It is Bezzecchi’s fifth pole position in his career and his first since the Grand Prix of India in 2023.
In the Moto2 the Dutchman Collin Veijer starts on Sunday from the ninth position. The Spaniard Daniel Holgado starts from pole.
The Sprintrace for the MotoGP takes place on Saturday afternoon, the main races are Sunday.
Joan García and Marcus Rashford entitled to play for FC Barcelona
11.28 am: Barcelona trainer Hansi Flick can rely on goalkeeper Joan García and attacker Marcus Rashford on Saturday in the away match against Mallorca. Both players were registered at the last minute by La Liga, the organization behind the highest Spanish football classes.
García was taken over from fellow Espanyol this summer and has to replace the injured Marc-André ter Stegen in the goal. Rashford is rented from Manchester United. Both players could not be registered before. For García, space arose when Ter Stegen signed a document in which he indicated that he could not keep to not goalkeeping for at least four months due to an injury. According to Spanish media, the club has created space in the financial household for the salary of the Brit Rashford by selling half of the transfer rights of the Portuguese Francisco Trincão to Sporting Portugal.
Barcelona opens the season at 7.30 pm on Mallorca.
