Seven navigation systems were stolen from cars in Assen during the night from Thursday to Friday. This involved cars from the Volkswagen UP, Seat Mii and Skoda Citigo brands.
In recent years, the police have seen more and more burglaries involving cars of these specific models. Last year, the navigation system was stolen from 79 of these models in Assen alone.
These types of burglaries also take place in the other northern provinces. The police advise to ‘park the car in a well-lit place and take valuable items, such as a visible navigation system, out of your car.’
