The Finnish biathlon star was 17th in Annecy’s joint start race.

Tero Seppälä reached his best ranking of the season in the Biathlon World Cup on Sunday, when he finished in 17th place in the joint start race in Annecy.
The Finn, who shot three penalties, missed out on winning the race From Tarjei Bø one minute and 37 seconds. Bø survived the race with one fine.
The other was from Germany Danilo Riethmüller (+4.0 seconds) and Bø’s third nephew Johannes Bø (+9.7 seconds).
The race was a celebration for the Norwegians, as there were no less than five representatives of the fjord in the top six. Apart from Seppälä, no other Finns were seen in the race.
Before the 15-kilometer joint start race on Sunday, Seppälä’s best finish this season was 18th place on the normal distance of Kontiolahti.
The Biathlon World Cup continues next with the women’s 12.5 km joint start race. The start is at 15:45.
The women’s race will feature two Finns: Suvi Minkkinen and Venla Lehtonen.
