Arsenal managed to pull through – a knockout for Villa in front of the home crowd

Five matches were played in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Arsenal fans had to suffer on Tuesday evening, because even after an hour the scoreboard at the City Ground looked zero-zero. Eventually Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka brought relief with their quick hits.

Nottingham Forest did not go down easily. Moments before the 90 minutes are up Taiwo Awoniyi stormed into Arsenal’s box, forcibly took the ball for himself and shot a 1-2 goal.

Arsenal tamed Forest’s overtime equalizing attempts and took the almost mandatory points for the title fight.

– In the first half, we played well, but we didn’t succeed in scoring, Gabriel Jesus commented to TNT Sports.

– In the second half, it was the same thing, but we managed to score.

The gap to the leading Liverpool narrowed to two points, but Arsenal have played more matches. Manchester City is in third place in the table, three points behind Arsenal, having played two matches less.

Villa bent on its home turf

Aston Villa, another of the top four who played on Tuesday, ran into a weak Newcastle that performed recently.

Newcastle took a three-goal lead at the start of the second half. by Ollie Watkins the narrowing brought hope to Villa Park, but only for a moment.

The final score was 1–3.

There are three matches on Wednesday’s schedule: Manchester City-Burnley, Tottenham-Brentford and Liverpool-Chelsea.
