Anyone who parks as usual now pays a fine of 15 euros in Karlshorst

One-way street away, ticket there! In Karlshorster Stolzenfelsstraße, speeding tickets were distributed in piecework this week. Because suddenly all the cars were parked wrong there.

The reason: because of a construction site, the street is suddenly no longer a one-way street – but a dead end.

The blue one-way street sign has been crossed out with red tape. Consequence: Cars can no longer be parked on the left in the previous direction of travel, but the other way around. That’s what the road traffic regulations want.

For two weeks, no one bothered. Then the Lichtenberger regulatory office struck. On Monday, an employee handed out rows of fines of 15 euros each. First masked, then cashed in!

The residents are wondering what the point is: instead of after parking, they have to turn in front of it. At least until January 28th. The construction site will then be dismantled and the road closure lifted.

Whether the speeding tickets were necessary and a friendly tip would not have done it instead? The responsible district councilor Martin Schaefer (47, CDU) did not want to comment on the BZ request.
