Amon-Ra St. Brown has been nominated for the Pro Bowl for the third time in a row in this NFL season. The German-American does not take part in the All-Star Game the next weekend.
The Detroit Lions On Monday morning, the offensive Tackle Taylor Decker would replace the injured Penei Sewell in Pro Bowl. A little later, the team then announced the injury -related failure of Amon-Ra St. Brown.
However, the team did not announce which injuries the two NFL professionals prevent their pro-Bowl participation. Sewell missed the divisional round against the Washington Commanders (31:45) Not a single snap and was not on the list of injury afterwards.
St. Brown’s failure also comes as a surprise after the wide receiver against Washington still caught eight balls for a total of 137 yards and – at least publicly – complained about no problems. Because of his cancellation, the audience of this year’s Pro Bowl, meanwhile, have to do without the player, who won the “Best Catch” competition last year and was also in top form.
This season St. Brown took second place at the Catches (115), fifth place at the Receiving Yards (1,263) and third place in the touchdowns (12).
NFL rookie benefits from cancellation
After the cancellation of the Lions star, meanwhile moved Malik Nabers in the Pro Bowl contingent of the NFC. The 21-year-old has with the New York Giants Experience a difficult rookie season in which the team ultimately only had a 3-14 record and also had to deal with difficulties in the quarterback position.
Nabers could hardly be influenced by these circumstances. He caught 109 balls for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 NFL encounters, proving that he is already one of the best receivers of the league.
Incidentally, before the former first round pick, no other Giants rookie has made it into the Pro Bowl since 2014. At that time this was a certain Odell Beckham Junior. Obje was also the last WR of the New Yorker in 2016, which was nominated for the all-star Game.
