Brazil record just missed

A few weeks ago, it seemed to be a change to Olympique Lyon at Nottingham Forest’s midfielder Danilo (24), then a forced descent was imposed on the French. In the meantime it is clear that Ol can play in the first division next season, but Danilo has now been introduced to another club – albeit under the same roof. Botafogo, also owned by the US entrepreneur John Textor, who was disempowered in Lyon, announced the move of the 24-year-old back to Brazil on Friday. An agreement with Forest has already been reached, as the English also confirmed.

According to transfer market information, 23 million euros flow to the Premier League club as a transfer for Danilo, which himself paid 20 million euros two and a half years ago. According to Botafogos, Danilo receives a contract until summer 2029. However, the medical check is still pending. The player will only be expected in the coming days.

With the transfer amount to be paid for him, to which no bonus payments can no longer come, Danilo narrowly missed the previous record losses of the Brazilian league (25.5 million for Vitor Roque). 23 million euros is the third highest amount that a Brazilian club has ever paid for a player. The price spent by Nottingham 2023 was the second largest sale of Palmeira’s training club after Gabriel Jesus (Man City). At Forest, Danilo was the second taxiest transfer of the then climber at the time, on the same time with ex-Berlin Taiwo Awoniyi.

The Prize for Nottingham was worth it, especially in the first half of the year after Danilo’s arrival. The six, which was actually not very dangerous, contributed three goals in the 2022/23 season finale, including the lead goal in the 3-1 against Brighton and the match winner in the 4: 3 against Southampton. This means that Danilo had an enormous share of six important points, without the Forest descending again after the season. In the follow -up season, Danilo came up late after an injury, and in the past season – after an even lengthy injury break – Danilo was only granted five starting work in the Premier League.
