On May 9th, Timo Baumgartl (26) made his testicular cancer diagnosis public. The Union defender at the time: “So far I’m fine. All forecasts are positive.”
Baumgartl takes an offensive approach to his illness. On the Instagram internet platform, he shows himself on the beach, among other things, so that it is reasonable to assume that Baumgartl has undergone chemotherapy.
The native Swabian fights and apparently wants to encourage other people.
When will he play football again? Open. It could be months before Baumgartl is fit again for the Bundesliga. Nevertheless, it seems clear that things will continue for him at Union.
After the last game of the season against Bochum (3:2), manager Oliver Ruhnert (50) prematurely announced the extension of his loan.
According to reports, PSV Eindhoven and Union have now agreed to leave Baumgartl in Berlin for another season.
until Training starts on June 20th the official announcement will follow.
The Irons test on June 29 (6 p.m.) in the Jahnsportpark against third division relegated Viktoria and on July 2 (4:30 p.m.) at second division Magdeburg.
