Adler Mannheim before the knockout round of 16 in the premier class

The Adler Mannheim clearly lost their first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions Hockey League (CHL). The eight-time German ice hockey champion lost 1:4 (1:2, 0:0, 0:2) to the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.

ERC Ingolstadt is also threatened with elimination in the first knockout round of the premier class. Head coach Mark French’s team also suffered a 1:4 (0:2, 1:2, 0:0) defeat against the Växjö Lakers. The second leg takes place next Tuesday.

Linden Vey (12th minute) scored the only goal for head coach Johan Lundskog’s Adler in Switzerland. Jordan Schroeder (8th/45th), Gian-Marco Wetter (18th) and Martin Frk (59th) were successful for the hosts.

Former German NHL professional Tobias Rieder (4th) gave Växjö the lead in Ingolstadt. The other goals for the Swedish champions were scored by Gabriel Carlsson (11th), Victor Stjernborg (27th) and Dylan McLaughlin (30th). Daniel Pietta scored for the ERC (21st).
