Daniel Schering remains a coach at Eintracht Braunschweig. This was announced by the relegation-prone football team on Tuesday afternoon.

Previously, the supervisory board had long discussed the sporting location and Scherning’s future together with the managing directors Wolfram Benz and Benjamin Kessel on Monday evening. Afterwards, the management had intensive discussions with Scherning, the club said, and continued to express its trust.

“After the defeat against Hertha BSC, we could not simply pass the agenda. We had to take the time to critically look at the current situation with all those responsible. It is clear that we need more consistency in our achievements to keep the class. We will continue with Daniel,” said Kessel. “The team is also responsible, because it has the necessary quality to achieve our goal of the season. We will look forward with our emotional environment, even with our emotional environment, and create a relegation.”

On March 30th next basement duel against Münster

The 1: 5 in the basement duel against Hertha BSC last Sunday had plunged the BTSV, which offered a weak performance, into an even bigger crisis. Eintracht is currently occupying the relegation relegation rank and, with 49 goals, has the second worst defense in the league behind the bottom of the bottom.

The next opponent is the table 15 after the international break on March 30 (1.30 p.m., in the Livecenter at NDR.de). Prussia Münster, the next trend -setting game in the fight for relegation. In the event of a bankruptcy at the promoted team, the gap to the first safe non -relegation zone would grow to six points.

Scherning: “Sure there is a discussion”

Scherning had saved the Braunschweiger before relegation last season. Shortly before Christmas, the supervisory board and management discussed a replacement of the trainer. Already during the winter break he was expressed his trust and instead the team strengthened with five new players for the relegation battle.

“It is normal for critical voices to arise in such a moment. That there are also votes that demand a change of coach,” the 41-year-old openly said on Sunday after the tart defeat against Berlin. “The performance was far too bad for a home game in the situation in which we are. It is clear that there is a discussion about the coach.”

Keeper Hoffmann is strong for the trainer

Keeper Ron-Torchen Hoffmann vehemently strengthened his coach on Sunday evening at the NDR sports club: “This is a coach for whom I would go through the fire. “The trainer reaches us, we are fully convinced that we will create the relegation with him.”

Rumor has already discussed a comeback by Torsten Lieberknecht in Braunschweig. The 51-year-old had recently looked after Darmstadt 98 and has been without a club since September 2024. In the “Löwen” he was a guiding figure between 2008 and 2018 and had shaped a sporting era.
