The French Open is not just about prestige and world ranking points. A successful run in Paris is also financially worthwhile. There are millions in bonuses.

The French Open is the second Grand Slam tournament of the tennis year. Right in the middle: Maja Chwalinska. The Polish tennis player has reached the final of the tournament and will meet the Russian Mirra Andreeva on Friday (on t-online in the live ticker).

For Chwalinska, it’s not just about fame and points for the world rankings. The prize money at Roland Garros is also enormous. In the 125th edition of the tournament, more money is at stake than ever before. And the qualifier has already secured at least 1.4 million euros by reaching the final. A total of 61.7 million euros will be distributed at the tournament. Even players who were eliminated in the first round can still look forward to high earnings.

The winner in the singles will each receive 2.8 million euros at the French Open 2026.

If Zverev wins his duel against Menšík, he will receive 1.4 million euros for reaching the final – just like Chwalinska. He is certain of the 750,000 euros he will receive for the semi-finals.

But all the athletes who have already been eliminated can also be happy: an early exit from the tournament brings in considerable prize money in Paris. For reaching the third round, the professionals receive 187,000 euros, in round two it is 130,000 euros.

Even those who are eliminated right at the start will not leave empty-handed. For participation in the main field, 87,000 euros will be paid out.

At the French Open, men and women receive identical prize money. With its high winnings, Roland Garros, like the other Grand Slam tournaments, is one of the most prestigious and lucrative events in the tennis calendar.
