Contested second half: Frankfurt and Hertha exchange blows

Status: 08/13/2022 5:25 p.m

In the Bundesliga, Hertha BSC and Eintracht Frankfurt fought a heated battle. In the second half in particular, both teams had numerous chances to win.

On Saturday (08/13/2022) neither Hertha nor Frankfurt used one of them. So the opponents parted with 1:1 (1:0). Berlin’s midfielder Suat Serdar helped the hosts to get off to a flying start with his goal (3rd minute). A goal was quickly scored in the second half, but this time Daichi Kamada celebrated for Frankfurt (48′). Referee Frank Willenborg took back a late penalty for Eintracht after VAR intervention (90+3).

Draw stops Hertha horror series against Eintracht

Due to the draw, the team of SGE trainer Oliver Glasner has been without a threesome for ten games across the season. And despite their committed performance, the Berliners remained without a win in their third competitive game under their new coach Sandro Schwarz, but at least stopped a horror series against the SBU: Frankfurt had won the last three appearances at Hertha with 11:3 goals.

Floodlight game for Hertha, SGE receives Cologne

For Hertha, the 3rd matchday continues on Friday evening under floodlights (8.30 p.m.) at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Frankfurt plays 1. FC Köln on Sunday (3.30 p.m.).

More to come.
