Erika Vikman takes a stand on the uproar over artist Olga’s performance outfit.
Olga got on stage at the gold party in a Suomi bikini and a miniskirt, which woke up the crowd. Iltalehti previously asked Finnish artists their views on the clothing scandal and whether male and female artists are treated differently when it comes to dressing.
Vikman responded to Iltalehti’s comment request after the story was published.
– Yes, there are different rules for men than for women. After all, I experienced it myself, when my Eurovision dream woke up to a halo, and a more chaste version was made of it, which felt a bit like double standards, Vikman communicates.
Vikman had to change his Eurovision costume in the spring of 2025 at the request of the European Broadcasting Union EBU.

Olga’s bikini outfit is praised by Vikman.
– I think Olga’s outfit was wonderful, and completely contemporary pop culture and suited the happy carnival feeling, Vikman writes.
– There are wonderful and self-confident young artists in Finland who break old patterns and represent themselves boldly and joyfully. I think that’s freedom! Vikman decides.
Olga herself commented on the outfit uproar on Tuesday in her featured Instagram stories of the day.
The artist posted a close-up of the Suomi bikini in his stories, and Britney Spears’ song was playing in the background Piece of Me. In connection with the photo, he writes a nice message:
– They say my outfit was too much for the Golden Jubilee. Really go to work.
