At the Grand Slam tournament in the All England Club, 34-year-old Petkovic was beaten in the first round by Viktorija Golubic from Switzerland 4: 6, 3: 6.
Petkovic, who was also eliminated in the opening game at the dress rehearsal in Bad Homburg, never made it past the third round at Wimbledon, and grass was never one of her favorite surfaces. Petkovic gave up the serve a total of four times and made too many slight mistakes throughout the game. Whether the number 57 in the world will continue her career beyond this season is open.
Buzarnescu too strong for Schunk

Like Petkovic, however, she was unable to follow Kerber and 22-year-old Jule Niemeier into the second round.
