De Jong had fallen out of the picture at Sevilla. After five years at PSV, he transferred to the Spanish club in the summer of 2019. A year later he was the great hero of Seville. With two hits in the final against Internazionale (3-2) he had a large part in winning the Europa League.
De Jong got little playing time at Barcelona. Sevilla, Barcelona and Cádiz would all three agree that De Jong will finish his rental period at Cádiz. The striker himself has not yet given an agreement.
Cadiz is in the penultimate place in La Liga.
