The Rottendorf-based clothing provider S.Oliver Group announced on Tuesday the establishment of a new joint venture with the trading company Private Textiles Holding GmbH (PTH Group) based in Bischofswerda, Saxony.

The task of the new joint venture Brand Collective GmbH is therefore “the acquisition, continuation and strategic repositioning” of retail spaces that were previously used by the Catches multi-brand concept, which is part of the PTH Group.

“Specifically, around 18 locations are to be transferred to the joint venture, rebranded and continued to operate under the S.Oliver Group brand and sales concept in the future,” explained the clothing group, which includes labels such as S.Oliver, Comma, Liebeskind Berlin, Copenhagen Studios and Lala Berlin. The launch is planned for the third quarter of this year.

S.Oliver wants to tap into growth potential in travel retail and in eastern Germany

The agreement enables the S.Oliver Group to “specifically accelerate its market expansion, exploit existing location opportunities in the short term and tap additional growth potential – particularly in the travel retail segment and in eastern Germany,” according to a statement.

Johannes Rellecke, one of the co-CEOs of the S.Oliver Group, explained the plans. “With Brand Collective GmbH, we are creating a scalable platform to quickly and efficiently fill attractive retail locations and to specifically expand our market penetration,” he explained in a statement. “The partnership with PTH enables us to combine operational excellence with strong brand management and thus take advantage of new growth opportunities in brick-and-mortar retail.”
