Additional LNG ships cause falling gas prices in Europe | Consumer

New maritime data shows that at least 15 ships with LNG – liquefied natural gas – are sailing towards Western European ports. Previously there had been 10 tankers. In addition, there are another 11 LNG ships whose route is not yet officially known, but which appear to be heading for Europe.

European gas prices fell 20 percent on Friday. The TTF-Future, a reference price for natural gas in our regions, fell to 105 euros per megawatt hour. That is still extremely high, but already well below Tuesday’s peak of 187 euros/MWh.

Extra LNG should alleviate the shortage on the gas market. In addition, temperatures in Europe are milder than at the beginning of this week.
