It has been decided to hold this year’s World Volleyball Championships in Poland, at least in part.
Polish Sport.onet says there may be more host countries. Among other things, the name of Italy has come to the fore.
Russia, which is at war with aggression, has been excluded from almost all major international championships, but a decision has not yet been made on the World Cup in volleyball.
A decision by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) on Russia’s participation is expected soon.
Russia’s substitute for the World Cup will survive based on the world ranking of volleyball. 22 countries will take part in the World Cup and Ukraine will be ranked 23rd in the rankings, possibly taking the World Cup place in Russia.
Russia ranks third in the world and Finland ranks 28th.
The World Volleyball Championships will be held in Poland in August-July.
