Travel ban for Marseille fans

The fans of the top French football club Olympique Marseille are not allowed to travel to Paris Saint-Germain for the Ligue 1 hit game on Sunday (8:45 p.m. / DAZN).

This was announced by the French Ministry of the Interior the day before the 32nd matchday game between the leaders and the second.

A travel ban between the two regions will be in place throughout Sunday for anyone who “claims or behaves as a supporter of Olympique Marseille”. The decision was made due to the high level of animosity between the clubs’ supporters.

When the teams last met in front of fans from both sides in February 2018, there were serious riots with several injuries.

In the course of the Ligue 1 season to date, there have been repeated fan tumults and space storms at various venues. RC Lens fans have also been banned from traveling to the derby at OSC Lille on Saturday.
