A private individual cannot install a wind turbine. But more and more companies are installing their own wind turbines to no longer be dependent on an out-of-control energy market. This means that you have to charge more for your products or that you make less profit. With that wind turbine you buy stability and autonomy.”
Not obvious
But getting a permit for a small windmill is not easy, especially if you are a stone’s throw from the air base in Koksijde. Anthony Vandaele: “It is very difficult for us to obtain that permit because we are close to the airport. Skies also had a hard time. It was a matter of searching and puzzling to get there.”
The first small wind turbines that were installed in our province have been running for 30 years without major problems.
