Liverpool do not appear to be willing to release the Brazilian, Juventus’ first choice for goal. But Juventus managers continue to look to the Premier League

A goalkeeper and a center forward. Juve is very clear about what the market’s priorities are at the moment: a number “one” and a number “nine”, to make up for the most obvious shortcomings that Spalletti’s squad has shown this season. Complications, however, are not lacking. If the farewell of Dusan Vlahovic opens up great prospects thanks to the amount released in the budget but puts a rush on the Juventus managers, between the posts it is the difficulties in snatching Alisson from Liverpool that lead the Old Lady to explore alternative paths. Two in particular, both of which lead to the Premier League.

Juve, Martinez alternative to Alisson

The Brazilian goalkeeper’s argument has been clear for some time: he has had an agreement with Juve for months, but Liverpool does not intend to let him leave so as not to excessively empty a dressing room that has already lost Konaté, Robertson and Salah of leaders. Alisson will attempt a new contact with the Reds management in the next few hours to get the green light, but at this point the Bianconeri only maintain a remote hope, without illusions. And they continue to work on alternatives. The first is a proposal that has been coming for some time from the agents, never excessively considered until the last few days: the Argentine Emiliano “Dibu” Martinez of Aston Villa. The hero of the 2022 World Cup, thanks to the sensational save on Kolo Muani in the last minute of extra time in the final against France, despite a contract until 2029, would like a new adventure and, at 33 years old, would represent that profile of experience and habit of winning that Spalletti requires. His valuation is 20 million, but the main obstacle is the salary of 6 million net per year.

vicar is back in Juve’s sights

The second is a path already explored in the past, but temporarily abandoned also due to what seemed to be a clear advantage for Inter: Guglielmo Vicario of Tottenham. The former Empoli goalkeeper, who is still 30 years old, has long shown his intention to return to Serie A and had reached a total agreement with the Nerazzurri, before the about-face which saw the via della Liberazione club preferring Josep Martinez as a starter. At this point Juve would have a free path on him and the contract expiring in 2028 puts English Tottenham in a position to not be able to make excessive demands. Even for Vicario the valuation is around 20 million, but the salary of between 3 and 4 million per year would be more within Juventus parameters.
