Norwegian comedian Pernille Haaland tells Iltalehte what makes Alexander Stubb such an admirable president.
Norwegian comedian Pernille Haaland37, has shown through several social media updates that he is “in love” with the president to Alexander Stubb58. In his humorous updates, he has admired, for example, Stubb’s athleticism, nice character, and pictures of the president riding a Hornet fighter.
Haaland tells Iltalehte that he ran into Stubb once when clips of the president’s speeches appeared on his social media feed.
– I have always thought that he is a really knowledgeable guy, says the comedian.

Little by little, Stubb’s videos started appearing even more on Haaland’s social media feed. Later, Haaland was asked to do stand up comedy for NATO during the Nordic cold weather operations. For the gig, Haaland, among other things, got to know the president of Finland, a member of NATO.
– I was really impressed with him. I think he’s the coolest president since Obama. I respect him so much, the comedian states.
– It is clear that his passion is ensuring safety in the Nordic countries. In today’s political landscape, which is a mess, it’s rare to find leadership that has backbone and is willing to take on the fight, he praises Stubb.

Haaland has also drawn attention to how popular Stubb is also outside of Finland.
– He really makes other political leaders listen to him. It’s a huge deal in the middle of everything going on.
Haaland is especially amazed by Stubb’s athleticism.
– He does triathlons for fun. Are you crazy? It’s crazy. I always joke that I think he runs every morning along your 355 km border with Russia before his meetings,” the comedian says humorously.
– And he doesn’t sweat unless he’s in the sauna. Moreover, nothing startles him, he remains calm and nothing affects him.
Haaland also mentions Stubb’s language skills. Stubb speaks Finnish, Swedish, English, French and German.
– He can read Moomins in five languages. It’s unbelievable. It should enter the Guinness Book of Records, he throws.
Haaland believes that Stubb is a great role model, especially for men.
– Nowadays, men are taught that in order to be successful you have to invest in bitcoin, buy a Lamborghini and move to Dubai. But here is a person who is intelligent and therefore successful. I think he should be a role model for everyone.

On Friday, Haaland made a Facebook post about receiving a message from Stubb after reacting in a lustful manner to Stubb’s Hornet photos.
– Our whole family loves your content. Thank you for bringing a smile to an otherwise difficult situation. Keep up the good work, Stubb’s message read according to Haaland.
Now Haaland reveals that Stubb has reacted to his humorous updates before. Stubb’s first message came when Haaland joked about his and Mark Carney meeting in Canada. The joke was on Carney.
– People liked it on Facebook. Then Stubb sent me a laughing emoji. That’s when I thought, “Oh my God, have I died and gone to heaven?” It’s so impressive that even he knows about me,” Haaland recalls.
– I screamed and called my mother, who said: “For God’s sake Pern, what have you gone to do?” he says humorously.

Haaland appreciates Stubb’s messages, especially because the president wouldn’t really need to send them.
– I think this shows that he is the president of the people. Unlike other presidents, his agenda is not to put his name on a building. He just wants to interact with people. Also, I think this shows that he has a sense of humor, she reflects.
Message to Stubb
With his Stubb updates, Haaland wants to bring joy to the world. It would be great for him if his videos made other people interested in Stubbs.
– I always joke that Alexander Stubb’s presidency is like watching Roger Federer’s playing tennis. He does it so eloquently, and the world lacks that kind of leadership. I think a lot of people like that he brings people together, says Haaland.
– In my opinion, he is in a way the captain of the Nordic team. Whatever he says, we’re on board, which is cool, the comedian adds.
Haaland, who previously performed in Turku, for example, will be seen in Finland again next year. The comedian wouldn’t mind if he met Stubb then.
– It would be a dream come true. But I think he’s very busy, so I don’t expect anything.
Finally, Haaland in turn sends a message to Stubb.
