Breakfast is the new competitive advantage of restaurants, just as brunch was before. The Kupoli bar of Helsinki’s Grand Hansa hotel wants to be known for its champagne breakfast.
A champagne breakfast is served every week on Saturdays starting April 25 at 10 a.m. You can’t just walk into the 74-seat Kupol for breakfast, but you have to make a table reservation in advance.
– We are trying to get even two sets there, says the hotel manager of NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa Tom Strandberg.
Hotel breakfasts have price differences of up to tens of euros. Prices vary even in hotels of the same level.
For example, in St. George, breakfast costs 39 euros for guests outside the hotel. Hotel Haven’s breakfast is 30 euros per person.
Hotel Kämp is a popular breakfast place in Helsinki and it serves breakfast for 38 euros. Breakfast at Hotel Hobo costs 22 euros.
Perhaps the most expensive breakfast in the city is served by the Waldorf Astoria, where a buffet costs 45 euros.
“Exclusive breku”
What makes Kupol’s breakfast exclusive, apart from champagne and a stylish environment, of course?
Breakfast is served to the tables and some of the products are already laid out on the table in afternoon tea style.
– I hope and trust that the breakfast will be of interest to the townspeople.
The champagne offered is Taittinger.
