Renze Klamer was right with his criticism of RTL Tonight, but that cost him his job. Tina Nijkamp thinks it’s scandalous. “He has a right to his job!” shouts the TV authority.
The initial format of RTL Tonight was a drama: Stijn de Vries who came up with worthless reports, a girl who put together terribly corny social videos and a regular guest like Astrid Holleeder who was not there because of her skills but because her surname is so wonderfully mediagenic. Renze Klamer had tobacco from it.
‘As it was!’
Renze had repeatedly raised the alarm with RTL boss Peter van der Vorst, but no one listened to him. In fact, he was slowly escorted to the exit. And now RTL Tonight is exactly what Renze’s old talk show was, but with a desk instead of a table, notes TV authority Tina Nijkamp.
Tina speaks on her analysis channel of ‘good news’ for RTL Tonight. “The talk show is completely as it was before with the host’s name, even the same guests and the music on Friday. All sections such as Wiesje and the live circuits have also been removed, and the Mediaweek section that we also saw with Beau, Humberto and Renze is back.”
Fruits
RTL 4 is completely back to the old concept, says Tina. “Exactly the same line-up now. And following that format from last year is paying off immediately. This week without Wiesje they had better scores than last time and on Friday evening they had the second best score so far after The Masked Singer!”
818 thousand people watched it, good for a 32 percent market share in the commercial target group. “Only the first broadcast (which was with Renze) scored higher: 897 thousand. Of course helped by The Masked Singer and still one commercial break less than what should be, but this is worth a viewing figure cake.”
Painful question
There remains a ‘painful question’, according to Tina. “Why did Renze have to leave Peter van der Vorst? It is exactly the talk show as it was before, Renze would find the format just fine. Renze was just right that it was not good!!!!! This is now evident from these figures. It was a total monstrosity and now exactly like Renze, Humberto and Beau.”
She continues: “No Wiesje and everything back to the way it was. The only thing that is different is the desk instead of the table. Dear Peter and team RTL Tonight, have a cup of coffee together and let Renze do his work again, he is good.”
Right to job
Tina thinks how Renze has been treated is scandalous. “The world upside down: Renze was right, but he was sent home because he criticized RTL Tonight (completely justified).”
“All the worthless and old-fashioned sections, most of the exclusive interpreters (again this week no Achmed Aboutaleb, Astrid Holleeder) and live connections have been deleted, but Renze is still at home.”
Zero contact
Tina can’t reach it with her hat. “If RTL’s Peter van der Vorst and Carlo van Lienden had simply listened to Renze, RTL would not have had to delete all those commercial breaks. It would have saved tons of lost turnover!”
“Ps. No, I am not friends with Renze, I have zero contact with him. I am posting this because I find it strange that you can just lose your job after criticism, but it turns out that your criticism was completely justified and correct. That now appears.”
