It was already leaked in October that FC Bayern was planning to purchase a new stadium in order to be able to offer the women’s team a new venue. The stadium on campus with only 2,500 seats has become too small, the Allianz Arena with up to 75,000 seats is too big. The deal for the Unterhaching sports park is now apparently almost perfect.
This emerges from a report by “Bavarian Broadcasting”. According to this, the deal is in its final stages and FC Bayern is acquiring the venue from regional soccer team SpVgg Unterhaching for around 7.5 million euros and is therefore “almost fixed”. The arena will then be used by three teams.
In addition to the Munich women’s team, the sports park also remains the home ground of Unterhaching, who were relegated from the 3rd league last season and still hold all the cards in their own hands in the race for direct promotion. The Munich Ravens football team should also be allowed to continue playing there.
Further investments are coming to FC Bayern
“There couldn’t be a better partner on the lessor side,” said Unterhaching President Manfred Schwabl in an interview with “BR24Sport” about the upcoming deal. The fourth division club from the suburb, which has had a partnership with the record champions from Säbener Straße for several years, did not make use of its right of first refusal on the arena.

This brought FC Bayern onto the scene, which now probably still has some investments to make. “Floodlights, lux numbers, police issues and lawn heating need to be brought up to speed,” explained Schwabl. The aim is for the sports park “to be suitable for the third division or the women’s Champions League.”
The Munich team absolutely needs a larger venue for their women’s team’s games. The stadium on campus with only 2,500 seats has become too small, the Allianz Arena with up to 75,000 seats is too big. In addition to the women’s team, the FCB’s second representative team could also play in the sports park in the future if they were to be promoted from the Regionalliga Bayern to the 3rd league.
