After the forced relegation of TSV 1860 Munich, TSV Havelse would take the vacant place in the 3rd league if a license were granted. After the upcoming license refusal for the Munich team, Havelse is entitled to the Lions’ place as the best-placed of the four third division relegated teams. The license documents were submitted for this, like the TSV in a statement on Instagram announced. If the decision is positive, TSV, which was actually relegated, would remain in professional football in the coming season.

“TSV Havelse has submitted all the necessary documents to the DFB and NFV on time and in full for the 3rd league, the Regionalliga Nord and the U19 youth league and has taken part in the respective licensing and approval procedures,” said the statement signed by the outgoing managing director and board member Florian Riedel. Now the German Football Association and the Lower Saxony Football Association have to check the documents.

Recently there were rumors that Havelse did not want to stay in the 3rd league. FC Erzgebirge Aue, who were also relegated from the 3rd league, still had hopes, but these have now been dashed. However, 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig, who lost the promotion games against the Würzburger Kickers, were not considered as the first replacement according to the statutes.

TSV 1860 Munich said it did not receive a license for the 3rd league on Wednesday after a financial dispute with its controversial investor Hasan Ismaik. The traditional club falls into the regional league for the second time since 2017. The Munich team was unable to provide the necessary proof of liquidity to the DFB when the deadline expired at 5:00 p.m. According to reports, 2.7 million euros are missing for the license. The DFB still has to examine the case conclusively.

TSV Havelse home games in Hanover again?

If a license is granted, the stadium issue will once again be the focus for Havelse. Because the Wilhelm Langrehr Stadium in Garbsen is still not suitable for the third division. That’s why TSV wants to play its home games again in the Eilenriedestadion in Hanover. “We would like to express our thanks to those responsible at our neighbor Hannover 96 for their trusting and supportive cooperation,” said the club.
