The draw for the Qatar World Cup groups will be this Friday, April 1 at 5:00 p.m. (local Spanish time) at the Doha Congress and Exhibition Center. The 32 teams will be divided into four pots. From there, they will be drawn into eight groups of four teams each.
For the first time in history, the World Cup will be held in winter due to the high temperatures of the summer season in the country.
The draw will feature 29 qualified teams, pending two places to be decided in the intercontinental playoffs and another place reserved for the winner of the last UEFA playoffs. On the other hand, the World Cup event will maintain a classic format of eight groups of four teams that will play three matches all against all, in one round. The first two classified in each group will advance to the round of 16 and will face each other in the following format: first group against second group with the following crosses: A vs B, C vs D, E vs F and G vs H.
