Alexander Zverev got a confident victory at the start of the ATP tournament in Beijing. The German defeated the Italian Lorenzo Sonego 6: 4, 6: 3 and is in the round of 16. The Frenchman Corentin Moutet is now waiting there.
After the early end of the US Open and two defeats at the Laver Cup in San Francisco, the world ranking third on the ATP tour came back with a concentrated performance. Against Sonego, Zverev was particularly convincing with his serve and consistently used the breaking chances.
