In Waregem, around 300 people work on light, strong and sustainable substances that are used in work clothing and applications in extreme conditions.
“Our core activity is making light and strong fabrics,” says CEO Manu Tuytens. “Soldiers, doctors in the operating theater or people on an oil platform: they all need fabrics that are sturdy, comfortable and fashionable at the same time.”
Concordia is consciously looking for market segments where quality prevails. “For example, we make covers for windmills,” says Tuytens. “The material is more important than the clothing. These are products that can stay here in Europe.”
