Do you feel as young/old as you are?

“Although I am sixty, I often feel just as young as when I was twenty. That may sound strange, but in your head you just stay young. My 88 father says the same thing: he still feels young. Age is really just a number. It’s your energy and attitude that determines how old you feel.

I have two daughters and a son and they keep me young. Because I often move in their experience, I remain curious about trends. My daughter Fleur has a good running tap account herself, she points me the way on social media and I really like that. I learn from them too. “

Do you have a beauty secrecy?

“Certainly. My daughter is a skin therapist and she taught me a fixed routine. I use vitamin C, retinol and of course a good SPF every day. She always says: protect, protect, protect! In addition I occasionally do a TCA peeling. It really works, your skin stays better.

I also pay attention to my lifestyle. I have not been eating meat since my twenties, I don’t smoke and I make sure I keep moving. Pilates helps me stay fit and supple. And I try to make a detour every day. They are small things, but together they make a big difference. In the end you only really shine if you feel good on the inside. ”

Do people estimate you at the right age?

“Most people estimate me younger. I think that is because of my positive appearance and because I open new things. I am always curious and step into something new without much fear, as I started with ticktok. But people do not immediately expect someone of sixty. But because I have those kinds of challenges and enjoy it, people often see me with a great glim.”

What do you like best about yourself?

“My appearance. I have a positive and warm energy and I hear that from others. People quickly feel at ease with me. I am grateful for that. I believe that your inner attitude and positivity are ultimately your most beautiful qualities.”

What are you less happy with?

“My hair. Through aging, my hair becomes thinner and fluffy. I sometimes find that difficult. But I use good products and do my best to keep it beautiful. It is also just a bit part of it, and you learn to deal with it.”

How do people compliment you?

“With my warm appearance, but also often with my clothing style. I love fashion and pay attention to it. Even vulnerable elderly people with whom I work, sometimes say,” What do you look nice today! ” That touches me, because if someone who doesn’t always get anything else says something like that, you know that it really stands out.

Are you where you wanted to be?

“Yes. I am happy with my family, my work and the people around me. Of course I continue to develop myself. I always look for new things that give me energy. That is now, among other things, my Tiktok- and Instagram account, where I share my passion for fashion.

That adventure only started recently. My daughter said: ‘Mom, you just have to do that. You get so many compliments about your appearance and clothing, share that! ‘ At first I found it exciting to stand in front of the camera, but soon I noticed how nice it was. It almost feels like a new hobby that gives me energy. And I really believe that you are never too old to start anything new. “

Do you have a life lesson?

“Always stay with yourself. Follow your heart and do what makes you happy. It is so easy to get carried away by the expectations of others, but in the end you have to live with your choices. I consciously try to think about what makes me happy every day. Sometimes life does not go without saying, but even then you can try to see the light.

Staying positive, embrace new things and enjoy what is there. I think that is the secret to stay young, even if you are sixty. “
