Werder goalkeeper Michael Zetterer is surprisingly facing a move to Eintracht Frankfurt. The 30-year-old is supposed to replace regular keeper Kevin Trapp there.

Last season Michael Zetterer played all 34 Bundesliga and four cup games for Werder Bremen. Born in Munich, he has been under contract at the Weser since January 2015.

At Eintracht Frankfurt, everything stays as usual as usual despite the change rumors. As Eintracht trainer Dino Toppmöller announced, Kevin Trapp will be in goal in the first round game against fifth division FV Engers on Sunday. The 35-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2026, the transfer fee should be one million euros.

“He’s there, he trains – and that’s why I put it up,” said Toppmöller. He emphasized that Trapp had trained very focused in the past few days. “My job is to evaluate the boys as they present themselves in training and he did it well.”
