Calm under fire
In the further conversation with Canfield, Clooney emphasizes that it is not a matter of course to be able to play so many roles in wide -ranging genres at his age. He refers to the political thriller “Syriana” (2005) and the 2000 Runaway comedy “O Brother [Where Art Thou?]”. However, the Hollywood veteran cannot be intimidated by it, much more he uses his experience in PR matters and quotes his title role of the new film:” “Have you ever tried to play yourself? This is pretty difficult.”
Clooney strengthens Sandler’s back
George Clooney is known for his charming and down-to-earth appearance on the set-one of the many reasons why the 64-year-old is still indispensable from the younger industry. He probably stood for his esteemed colleague Adam Sandler, who is often only seen as a comedy type in his previous career, while his acting achievements are always overlooked. “Adam is a wonderful, warm and soulful actor”. He emphasized that Sandler was not just “any silly comedian”. Clooney had the other college: on the inside of the set regularly reminded of calling Sandler on his real name instead of the nickname “sand man” given to him.
In addition to Clooney and Sandler, Laura Dern, Greta Gerwig, Isla Fisher, Riley Keough and Grace Edwards will also be seen on the screen. Noah Baumbach (“Frances Ha”, “A Marriage Story”) celebrates its premiere at the Venice Film Festival at the end of this month. On November 14th, the film will start in selected US cinemas before it will be shown on Netflix from December 5th.
