After Manchester City Newcastle United has cut out in advertising around James Trafford, Aaron Ramsdale from Premier League relegated team moves Southampton on loan to the Magpies. According to media reports, Newcastle secures a purchase option for the 27 -year -old goalkeeper, which was only moved to the south coast last summer.

Ramsdale, which is still bound in Southampton until 2028, would bring the experience of 183 games in the Premier League to Newcastle. Coach Eddie Howe knows the five -time English international from the time together at the AFC Bournemouth, in which Ramsdale made the breakthrough. In 2019/20, Howe Ramsdale turned into a regular goalkeeper – a year later, the goalkeeper went to Sheffield United for 20.5 million euros.
“If you come to the stadium today and see it empty, it is pretty surreal to remember that this will be my home for the foreseeable future. I have the jersey, it has the beautiful Champions League badge on your sleeve and I am happy to be here,” said Ramsdale. “Aaron is an extraordinary goalkeeper who gives our squad further quality and international experience,” commented coach Eddie Howe.
In his career, Ramsdale has already changed three times for a transfer of EUR 20 million or more – the bottom line is 70.8 million euros of transfer revenues, which means third place among the goalkeepers. In front of him there are only Kepa Arrizabalaga (90.4 million) and Alisson (80.5 million).
