Dembé, Max, Shanti and Radjah, that’s the name of the two lions and tigers that were brought to Hoenderdaell Estate by the Lion Foundation from Poland last Saturday. The animals were traumatized on arrival, but they are now doing a little better, according to the foundation.
“Little by little they are getting better, but the fear is still there. Tigress Shanti has a lot of problems and it is therefore exciting whether she will make it,” says the Lion Foundation on Facebook. There is daily contact with the vet. Radjah and Max unfortunately also have physical abnormalities. “So they are animals that really need special care.”
Getting the animals out of the land wasn’t easy† “There is always bombing, so the caretakers no longer dared to feed the animals. But of course that has to happen. Two people have also been shot during transport to the border,” director Robert Kruijff previously told NH Radio.

The animals will be up for adoption soon. “But with Shanti we will wait a little longer to put on the adoption list due to the uncertainty.”
