Last week, local police officer Arjen Schut shared with his followers that somewhere two dogs had died in a closed car. The animals were killed by suffocation, he wrote.
The news evoked hundreds of indignant and surprised reactions. Because everyone now knows that the temperature in a car is running at lightning speed? Many followers hoped that the dog owner would not get away with it with impunity.
No criminal offense
A police spokesperson already informed NH last week that it is not a private individual, but a company that is professionally involved with dogs. Moreover, there was no criminal offense, the spokesperson emphasized, but of an accident.
In the meantime, more is clear about that accident. “The cooling in the car had failed,” Schut writes in a tweet in which he just as holds his earlier reporting.
