Nico Hülkenberg is sanctioned for an irregularity – and is not the first.

Nico Hülkenberg is the next prominent name that a regular injury costs the race outcome. The clean pilot was disqualified after the Grand Prix of Bahrain (more about this here). The reason for this was a too worn underbody on his vehicle.

The control after the race brought the violation to light. Hülkenberg, who had finished the race in 13th place, is deleted from the rating.

A similar violation of the rule already had consequences at the Grand Prix of China: there Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were subsequently disqualified, also because of an underfloor that was too worn out on their Ferrari cars.

So far, the start in Australia remains the only sense of achievement of the season. At that time Hülkenberg had scored six points. Since then, the team has been waiting for another countable result.
