Czech President Milos Zeman warned of new terrorist attacks in Europe as a result of “NATO surrender in Afghanistan.” About this he stated during the Christmas address to the citizens of the country.

“From a security point of view, the international situation has deteriorated since NATO’s surrender in Afghanistan. <...> This “Afghan Munich”, apparently, will lead to an increase in migration flows from Afghanistan, but above all to an increased risk, including in Europe, of new terrorist attacks similar to the attacks on the Twin Towers in New York “, – said Zeman.

In the summer, the Taliban (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) launched an offensive against Afghan government forces after the United States announced the withdrawal of its military contingent from Afghanistan. On August 15, the Taliban captured the country’s capital, Kabul, and announced the end of the war with government forces. On the same day, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.

The Taliban named the restoration of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, a general amnesty and the cessation of drug production as the main directions of their policy.
