Youp van ‘t Hek brutally disrupts Tim den Besten’s holiday fun. While the teased VPRO star is partying in Hungary, the comedian calls him out loud.
Things are not going well for Tim den Besten. After he sang a line from a Sinterklaas song last weekend, he was portrayed by Jan and everyone as a racist. “She even called me a wild beast”, the presenter sobbed on the radio. There was a huge media frenzy and a few days ago he fled to Budapest for a holiday full of distractions.
Media bitch
Right now that Tim is recovering well under the Hungarian sun, he gets Youp van ‘t Hek over him. The comedian scolds him in his latest NRC column out for ‘media bitch’.
Youp is ruthless. “I saw media bitch Tim den Besten sniffle loudly at Natasja Gibbs for fifteen minutes. Why did the treasure have to sob so much? Because he was completely off the hook. Monkeypox on the buttocks? No, much worse. During the Pride, he had sung a Sinterklaas song to a boat full of cousins, live on television.”
racist word
Well, one line from a Sinterklaas song: ‘Sinterklaas, come in with your servant.’ The word “servant” is seriously off-putting to some people.
Youp jokingly calls it a ‘racist word’ and he doesn’t even dare to pronounce it anymore. “I don’t take that risk, for fear that I will be canceled for the rest of my life by all kinds of soft and woke types.”
No resistance
At the moment, Youp mainly hopes that the video of the crying Tim will not go international. Before you know it, it will still be on Putin’s desk, he continues.
“Then he immediately comes our way: ‘This kind offers no resistance.’”
1st performance
Incidentally, Youp was still at the table on Friday at Op1, where it was about threats from an Islamic angle. “It’s scary. So I pay more attention to my words, yes. I did pay attention, yes,” he said there. “You saw van Gogh with Theo… I knew Theo a little bit and I saw all those things he said. I thought: this is going to go wrong once, and it went wrong.”
Where Youp takes Tim under fire, the comedian himself gets another blow from Story boss Guido den Aantrekker:
