THELearning to “let go”, to live a life more lightly, is it possible? Yes, even if it requires commitment and dedication, especially in times of pandemics. And maybe it’s time to go back to the books, to learn how to be a little more carefree. Here are eleven headlines on meditation and mindfulness that can help us reach this milestone. To read alone, or even in the company of the little ones.
2022: books for learning to meditate
For many, books are reliable friends, counselors, and escape routes. In 2022, they also want to offer therapies through which to improve oneself, or introduce us to a different vision of the world. A path that in the last two years more and more people have undertaken, relying on guide books to approach yoga or to learn how to free the mind by following a very personal book therapy.
The book can have two important functions: educational and therapeutic. The educational contribution does not need explanations, we have known it since school days. The therapeutic one minus. This “function” is based on keeping company, immersing the reader in stories that transport him away from his reality. An involvement that leads in some cases to confront oneself by questioning oneself or facing the darkest thoughts; a type of path also suitable for group therapies. And this is precisely one of the effects sought lately when opening a book.
Mindfulness and books
This is what the novelties in the bookshop aim at. On a newfound self-awareness, on the fact that it is time to accept that we cannot please everyone, as suggested by Maria Beatrice Alonzi, author of I don’t want to please everyone anymore that invites you to seek the life you want without worrying about other people’s thoughts. Easier said than done, sure, but it’s worth a try. An exercise, that ofself-acceptance, which is good to practice as a child as it suggests Exercises of Happiness by Joanne Ruelos Diaz.
In short, not just any year but 365 days to reflect and, why not, evolve.
