Woman walks her dogs and is assaulted twice by the same man

A woman was assaulted twice by an unknown man early on Monday morning on Mesdagstraat in Roosendaal. He kicked and hit her. The victim was injured and was checked and treated by ambulance staff.

The woman was walking her dogs around a quarter past five when she heard glass shattering in the distance. A little later she came across a man near Mesdagstraat. He came up to her, cursed her and hit her out of nowhere. Then he ran away.

The woman had not yet been freed from her attacker. He came back and started hitting and kicking her again, according to police.

Officers who responded to the report of glass shattering saw some things happen. When the man saw the police, he tried to run away. After one of the officers threatened him with a stun gun, he surrendered. It concerns a 27-year-old man whose place of residence is unknown.

The man is not only suspected of the assault, but also of destroying a window of a house on Burgemeester Freijterslaan. He’s still stuck. Because he did not want to cooperate with a breath and saliva test, it is unclear whether he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A report has been drawn up against him for refusing these examinations.
