A warm gesture from the police in Waalwijk on Friday morning: they gave an 88-year-old woman a lift to a funeral. Shortly before that, she had gone off the road in the bend to the Midden-Brabantweg near Loon op Zand.
The accident happened around 11 a.m. Friday. “Fortunately, the woman was not injured,” the Waalwijk police wrote in a message about the incident on its own Facebook page. According to the police, the woman was on her way to a funeral in Goirle when things went wrong.
The car was unable to continue driving after the accident. That is why officers decided to take the woman away so that she could be at the funeral on time. The car has been towed.
“Good job officers.”
The police can count on positive reactions to the Facebook message. “How nice that everything went well and compliments to the agents,” someone writes. And: “Maybe she was distracted by memories of the deceased. It’s nice that she could still go to the funeral. Well done agents.”
