Who filed the criminal charges against Till Lindemann?

The Berlin public prosecutor’s office has filed several criminal charges against Rammstein singer Till Lindemann – however, these were not filed by the alleged victims.

New developments in the course of the abuse allegations against Till Lindemann: On Wednesday (June 14) it became known that the Berlin public prosecutor’s office was investigating two cases against the Rammstein frontman and that there were several criminal charges against him. However, it is not known who filed these criminal charges.

“Der Tagesspiegel” speaks in one report of “criminal charges by persons not involved in possible crimes for various offenses against Lindemann”. This means that these come from third parties and therefore not from the alleged victims. It has not yet been announced who actually filed the criminal charges.

Details of the investigation

According to the report, the investigation is said to have something to do with Section 177 of the Criminal Code. This states that persons who “against the will of another person performs sexual acts on this person or has them performed by them or induces this person to perform or tolerate sexual acts on or by a third party” are liable to imprisonment for a period of six months to can be sentenced to five years. The investigations are based on the existence of an initial suspicion of a sexual offense and allegations of an alleged sale of narcotics.

Rammstein has been the focus of public criticism for days after it became known that the Berlin band had devised its own system to attract young women for sex at after-show parties after the concerts, now known to many as “Row ZeroR”.

Some of the women (anonymously) also accused them of sexual abuse or abusive behavior. In a statement, Rammstein called for prejudice to be avoided. Singer Lindemann, meanwhile, rejected all allegations about his lawyers as untrue without exception.
