Who are the seasonal tiktokers

The Atlantic coast, and especially Pinamar, is the new summer mecca for content creators, those young people who appear on TikTok and also YouTube and attract teenagers and children outside of conventional media. The Chinese social network exploded in the midst of the pandemic and generated millions of followers for those who saw in it an opportunity to become famous. Now, the second fortnight of February brought together five influencers: Lucas Dalto (19), renowned youtuber that teaches programming for free; Mariana Taurozzi (17), better known as Taurozzi on Tik Tok, where almost five million people follow her; Benjamin Calero (20), who uses Youtube and Tik Tok to make humor; added to Franco Depas (20) and Blas Torres (17) –Blass on his profile–, which also stand out on the internet where humor and dance videos abound.

NEWS: Why did you all decide to come to Pinamar together?

Lucas Dalton: It’s like the hub for content creators. The coast on these dates is where everyone goes to get together and create content, that helps a lot. Last year many came and exploded in followers because everyone began to see that they were in a group, it was like a showbiz environment but of networks. That made all the people who may already know you start following you. For example, three of us have almost 5 million followers on Tik Tok and there are many more people who know them but don’t follow them. Seeing them with other creators makes them get to know them and follow them.

NEWS: Through which social network did each one start?

Mariana Taurozzi: In my case, I started with TikTok in March 2020. When we were locked up, I came up with many ideas and had more time to put everything together. I started very slowly, then I innovated with the content, I began to use my voice to do sketches and humorous things, that gave me a lot of growth. At the end of 2020 it occurred to me to make love advice and with that I increased 2 million followers in a month.

Benjamin Calero: I love YouTube, I love that network, where I started two years ago. That way I do comedy, everything with humor.

Blaise Torres: Today I focus more on Tik Tok, where I don’t have fixed content, but I would like to get involved like Benja and Dalto on YouTube, to make videologs or humor.

NEWS: Did the pandemic give those who use Tik Tok a great chance?

Frank Depas: We all started more or less in the pandemic, which was when everything exploded, we caught it right at its peak. The post is that in quarantine we record like four videos a day and now the truth makes us tremendously lazy to do that (laughs).

Blaise Torres: It’s a matter of perseverance, sometimes you don’t feel like recording and you end up doing it anyway.

Mariana Taurozzi: I finished school last year and I’m going to continue studying, but I still think it’s important to stay on the networks. It is not something that can be left waiting, it is something that you have to follow and be constant, today I make two videos a day, each one taking me at least half an hour.

NEWS: Is it a hobby or is it already a business?

Mariana Taurozzi: Both. Today we already see it as a business, we work for it, but even so I try to see it as a hobby, to fit it into my routine.

Lucas Dalton: Even the most beautiful hobby that exists, if you do it repeatedly and it’s an obligation, stop liking it.

Frank Depas: A whole egg sucks me, I see it more for the business, ha.

Mariana Taurozzi: Fran is more our manager, he brings us business.

Frank Depas: And I’m an influencer too, eh, I’m 20 years old and I came alone from Córdoba to Buenos Aires in 2021 because the whole scene is there.

NEWS: Some are more dedicated to YouTube and others to Tik Tok, do you think of content together?

Lucas Dalton: They are different audiences, in Tik Tok you can have 1 million visits and then only 50. On the other hand, with YouTube you have a longer stability, you can create content where a video has 150 thousand and then 100 thousand, but never 50. On the other hand, in Tik Tok is more common an instability, it is a different algorithm.

Benjamin Calero: Actually, I came to Pinamar with content already made, but I’m sure I’m going to record some videolog with the guys.

NEWS: How do you negotiate with brands or marketing agencies?

Blaise Torres: I am with a marketing agency that also works with Benja, who connects us with the brands, they keep a percentage for that.

Mariana Taurozzi: I don’t have exclusivity with any agency, I usually deal with brands on my own. Or with some agency that takes 30 percent, but I have nothing that takes away my freedom to work with whoever I want.

They are young, tiktokers and youtubers. And they know how to turn their hobby into a business.
