In 58 minutes, De Groot won the final of the women’s singles 6-1 6-1. On Wednesday, 25-year-old De Groot won the doubles in Melbourne together with Van Koot.

De Groot has dominated wheelchair tennis since 2018. Last year she secured the so-called golden grand slam, in other words winning all grand slam tournaments and Olympic gold in the same year. De Groot was the first tennis player to win a golden grand slam since Steffi Graf in 1988.
