A day full of fairy tales and magic for grown-ups

After two fairytale weekends for children it’s the turn of the adults on Saturday. In the fairytale garden Dwingelderheem near Dwingeloo you will experience a day full of fairytales that are just a bit more exciting than the children’s stories.

In addition to performances, there is music, workshops and (organic) snacks and drinks. In case of bad weather, the activities will take place indoors and under cover. The program can be viewed on fairytale gardens.nl/grotemensen.

Street festival in the center of Emmen.

The center of Emmen is all about the Throw it in my pet festival. During this street festival you can let your music be heard as professional or amateur musicians, young and old. The emphasis is on playing unamplified, so no drum kit, but djembe, cajon or, for example, pots and pans and not an electric guitar, but an acoustic one. Each musician is assigned his own place.

It is, as the name of the festival suggests, allowed to earn an extra pocket money by putting your hat down in front of you. If you come as an audience, you decide who you want to listen to and donate money. A professional jury assesses the candidates and pays particular attention to the quality of each participant or group, whereby atmosphere, originality and whether the act is street musician worthy and acoustic.
