A 47-year-old German died in a wingsuit accident in the Swiss Alps. This is reported by the police of the canton of St. Gallen.

According to the police, the man had jumped with a wingsuit from a height of 2,080 meters in the village of Vättis with a 37-year-old German on Friday around 5 p.m.

The victim had jumped first and crashed shortly after leaving. The emergency services were unable to save the man. The public prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.

A wingsuit is a suit with artificial wings that allows someone jumping from a height to “fly away”. The sport is considered extremely dangerous. A 29-year-old man also died on Thursday during a wingsuit jump in Switzerland.
