“It is now up to policymakers to appoint the right man,” Nagtzaam looks ahead. As director of the supporters’ association, he does not want to comment on names. “The club now benefits from peace and continuity.”
Nagtzaam: “It is good that technical director Alex Kroes will stay for a while. He has made his own position available, eventually leaving the sinking ship as captain.”
It remains to be seen whether peace will actually come. Nagtzaam rightly notes that Heitinga is the eighth departing trainer in three and a half years. “We have to process this first. At times like this we have to be humble and modest. We hope for better times.”
