Warmest February 15 ever measured in Brabant: 66-year-old record broken

In Woensdrecht the temperature rose to 17.9 degrees at half past two on Thursday afternoon. A record. Never before has it been so warm on this day in the Netherlands.

For the previous daily record we even have to go back to 1958. Then a weather station in Limburg recorded 17.6 degrees. Special, say meteorologists, because it usually only gets warmer around February 25.

The first official spring day of the year is now a fact. To achieve this, the temperature at the national weather station in De Bilt must exceed 15 degrees. Except for the temperature, it is not yet very spring-like. It will remain cloudy in many places on Friday and it may rain in the afternoon. The temperature then drops back to below 15 degrees.

The record for the warmest day in the entire month of February is held by Arcen in Limburg. On February 27, 2019, it was summery there with more than 20 degrees.
