VVV-Venlo lays new turf in De Koel | 1Limburg

VVV-Venlo is going to lay a new turf in stadium De Koel. According to the club, the condition of the field is so bad that a new turf is necessary.

The bad field was clearly visible last Sunday in the Limburg clash between VVV-Venlo and Roda JC Kerkrade (1-1).

Next days
General manager Marco Bogers says that laying the new sod is the only choice. “We have of course discussed the field a lot recently. After the game against Roda, it was decided to start laying new grass.” The new turf will be laid in the coming days.

game schedule
According to Bogers, the playing schedule was the reason for not replacing the turf sooner. “Before the game against Roda, that was not possible because of the schedule, but now we have three weeks until the next home game.” On Friday, March 4, VVV will play its next home game against league-leader FC Volendam.

Critical
The trainers of VVV-Venlo and Roda JC were critical of the field after the game. “It was impossible to play football on this field,” said Roda JC coach Jurgen Streppel. VVV coach Jos Luhukay was also not enthusiastic about the turf. “I hope the field gets better or that a solution is found.”
