Vlaams Belang demands an increase in minimum wages: “We do not need permission from Europe”

Vlaams Belang will demand a rapid national increase in minimum wages during the debate in the House today. The party believes that a European initiative should not be waited for, but believes that the federal states can arrange this themselves as quickly as possible. Minister of Employment Pierre-Yves Dermagne (PS) promises to increase minimum wages, but emphasizes the importance of European cooperation: “Because workers in other European countries receive higher wages, Belgian workers will no longer be priced out of the market” .
